Product images help you compare appearances, but they cannot establish the exact size of a salt tile. Perspective, cropping and the way a product fills the image can make different pieces look similar. For an order, use confirmed measurements rather than judging scale from a photograph or illustration.
Our six supplier size references
Our current salt collection contains six supplier-listed tile references: 1 × 4 × 8, 2 × 4 × 8, 0.75 × 4 × 8, 1 × 8 × 8, 2 × 8 × 8 and 1.5 × 8 × 8. We reproduce these references to help you identify the option you want to discuss.
The supplier sheet does not state the measurement unit or confirm the order of the dimensions. Please ask us to confirm both before using these numbers in a layout, calculating quantities or placing an order.
What our images illustrate
The individual product illustrations treat the first figure as thickness. On that interpretation, the references ending in 4 × 8 have a rectangular face and those ending in 8 × 8 have a square face. This is an illustrative interpretation that still needs supplier confirmation.
The images are representative illustrations, not photographs of the exact pieces you will receive. They show approximate proportions and should not be used as a scale drawing or as proof of surface finish.
Does the size make it a brick or a tile?
Our wider collection is called Salt Bricks & Tiles, but the supplied size sheet labels these six options as tiles. We therefore use Salt Tile for the individual products. We do not assign a brick or tile name using an invented size cutoff.
When enquiring, quote the complete size reference rather than relying on the words “brick” or “tile.” This helps us identify the exact option you mean.
A useful measurement checklist
- Confirm the unit and which figure represents thickness, width and height.
- Ask about actual measurements and any variation between pieces.
- Confirm the surface finish, edges and product condition.
- Ask for the quantity available and the weight of the selected option.
- Have your installer confirm suitability and the final quantity for your intended use.
Approximate weights are listed on some product pages. The weight for the 1.5 × 8 × 8 reference is not confirmed, so please request it if it matters to your project.
